It's Monday morning. With a cup of coffee on your desk, log in for the weekly team meeting. From Franeker, you sit at the helm, while three faces appear on your screen: your account manager in Germany, your colleague in the Benelux and the representative in the Nordics. Each one brings their own story. In Germany, opportunities lie with a new customer, a project is running above expectations in the Nordics, and a challenging negotiation is imminent in the Benelux. You are the one who connects the lines, gives direction and gives the team energy.

After the meeting, you drive to the office, where the General Manager Europe is already waiting for you. Together, you go through the numbers and the strategic priorities. But the conversation is also about you: how you see your role, what international projects you want to take on, and what career steps are waiting for you at Huhtamaki. You notice that you are not only delivering results, but you are also seen as someone who can grow within the multinational.

Later that week, you'll be sitting at a customer's table in Germany. With sharp questions and an ear for their challenges, you can steer the conversation towards growth. There is talk about expanding the product portfolio and sustainable innovations. On the way back in the car, call your representative in the Nordics. Together, you will brainstorm how a successful approach in Scandinavia can be translated to other markets.

Huhtamaki Nederland B.V., based in Franeker, is a leading manufacturer of sustainable molded fiber packaging. Since our founding in Leeuwarden in 1907, we have developed into a global specialist in transforming waste paper into functional and environmentally friendly products, such as egg cartons, egg trays, cup carriers and protective packaging. About the position
 

You are an indispensable link that connects colleagues, customers, municipalities, developers and contractors. You keep an overview and ensure that the commercial strategy is clearly implemented in your region

Here's what you're going to do: 

  • Identifying and recruiting new customers in line with region guidelines and account plans.
  • Expanding the product portfolio with existing customers through cross-selling and upselling, based on the local situation.
  • Developing innovative commercial approaches to increase customer engagement and satisfaction
  • Identifying and responding to customer needs through regular and strategic interaction.
  • Monitoring and managing opportunities and risks within the customer base.
  • Understanding customer strategies, needs and core values and aligning solutions accordingly.
  • Negotiate customer agreements and prices within internally approved guidelines.
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly and annual sales forecasts.
  • Responsible for turnover and profitability in the region.
  • Preparation and presentation of the 3-year plan and annual sales budget for assigned customers.
  • Leading, motivating and coaching the sales team (3 people).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a colleague who not only has the right skills, but also fits our way of working and our ambitions:

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a commercial position, where you have shown that you not only achieve results yourself, but also know how to coach and manage colleagues.
  • You know the dynamics of production and manufacturing companies and preferably have experience in the packaging industry. This way, you understand exactly how to convert opportunities into sustainable growth.
  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree, for example in Business Administration, and know how to convert that knowledge into practical solutions for customers and teams.
  • You are analytical and structured, but also resilient and result-oriented. You see challenges as opportunities to show what you stand for.
  • You feel at home in an international environment: flexible, adaptable and strong in communication in both Dutch and English. German is a nice plus.
