Fault engineer

Maintenance
Leeuwarden
40 hours
€ 41.112 - € 53.280

It's 3:17 a.m. Production continues. Stack robots, control cameras and your team is responsible for the entire line. Technical support? It's there during the day. Not now.

You can see in the dashboard that one of the quality values is slowly deviating. No glitch. No alarm. But you know: if you don't do anything now, you'll get it back twice later. You analyze the line, check the mechanical adjustment and make targeted corrections where necessary. Within minutes, the process will stabilize again.

Later, you will record what you have done and discuss with the team how this can be structurally improved. In this brand new, clean factory with modern machines, you get the space to make independent decisions, and the responsibility that comes with it. This is not a standard fault technician role. This is technical ownership in a 5-shift environment where you make a difference together.

Apply for this position

As a Fault Engineer at Huhtamaki Technology, you are the technical hub in the workplace. You ensure that our production lines keep running, even when there is no direct technical support. You combine mechanical and mechatronic knowledge with analytical insight and know exactly when to intervene — and when not to. In this role, you get a lot of responsibility, trust and space for your own input.

About the position

  • You continuously monitor the mechanical condition of the production machines and intervene when necessary.
  • You independently carry out mechanical and mechatronic adjustments and repairs during production.
  • You analyse failures down to the root cause level and translate them into structural improvements.
  • You work closely with Production Operators, Quality Operators and the Shift Team Leader.
  • You actively contribute to optimizing processes and increasing the reliability of the lines.
  • You carefully register maintenance and fault information for the purpose of safeguarding and improving.
  • You work safely and ensure that safety guidelines and procedures are strictly followed.

Where will you work?

Huhtamaki Technology is Huhtamaki's international R&D and machine development center. At our Fiber Center in Leeuwarden, we develop and run advanced machine lines that are not yet on the market. You work in a clean, high-tech production environment with robots, camera controls and highly accurate quality inspections. Innovation, technology and freedom to think along come together here.
